Worried about failure? Feeling defeated?
In Facing the Giants, the field goal kicker is in just such a mood. His feelings of defeat and failure are hindering his ability to help the team. His father, who is crippled and in a wheelchair, challenges his son to fight his insecurities and to change his attitude into one that trusts and obeys God.
We're all in different professional situations. As Christians, we should understand that we can trust God to work in our lives to help us accomplish the tasks we are faced with in our careers. Living lives driven by emotion is a recipe for disaster because our feelings are fickle and deceptive. But God is faithful to us, and meets our every need and is there for us in every challenge.
Therefore, take this topic beyond the difficulty and rigor of your professional life. How are you doing with spiritual ambitions? Are you defeated in this area of life? Are you even considering this area of life? You may find yourself like me in this arena - fostering an attitude of neglect rather than of duty and honor to God. Do a self-check on the following:
We know "giving up" is a guaranteed result to any problem or struggle in life. In our spiritual lives, I'd bet that many of us choose to ignore the problems rather than be in a situation where we might fail. Neither is beneficial. Consider your attitude and trust God to help you through even spiritual challenges.
