Love To Pray

Love To Pray - 40 Days of Prayer

Our congregation is starting a new Home Group campaign, which is basically a guided Bible Study that everyone does at the same time. Despite the name of the campaign, we've deviated from the Rick Warren "40 Days" series to start focus on deepening our prayer lives  through a 40-day devotional journey written by Arvin VanderGriend.

I tried to find more on the author's theological background, and stumbled on minutes from a synodical gathering of the Christian Reformed Church. The minutes identify him as a retired pastor, hence the assumed affiliation. My understanding is that CRC follows Calvinistic theology... I know little of the differences between Lutheranism and Calvinism except some probable semantic arguments on predestination. It helps to understand these differences in the beginning so you can easily identify content that could be related to a greater "agenda". As always, test everything against all of Scripture.

I'm going to organize this Blog a little differently than last year. Man is that a mess. Hopefully this will be easier to read and follow if you want to keep up. I'll also setup a comment form so you can at least send me a quick note regarding the topics.
